ETC Scientific Advisory Board

ETC is proud to announce the establishment of a Scientific Advisory Board representing Occupational Risk Management. These members will serve as oversight and guidance to ETC in a variety of multidisciplinary areas.

Stephen Bennett, Vice President of Sedgwick Claims Management who is the subject matter expert for Workers’ Compensation and Return to Work, accountable for diagnostic services, educational tools, and solutions to reduce workers’ compensation and employee absence costs activities

Kennith Brock CSP, President of Strategic Safety Solutions and former EVP of Liberty Mutual and GE IRI who is the subject matter expert for Safety and Loss Prevention

Philip E. Hagan, JD, MBA, MPH, ARM, CIH, CHMM, CET, Director, Safety and Environmental Management for Georgetown University, Washington, DC, Mr. Hagan serves as the ETC expert in safety, health and ergonomics legal matters as well as participating with an active role in occupational risk management.
Dr. Roland Hosein Ph.D, GE Canada, Vice President, Environmental Health & Safety
GE Canada, who is the subject matter expert on occupational and environmental health and International Regulations such as ISO TC 207 on EMS and TC 299 for Nanotechnology
Dr. John LaCourse Ph.D, CPE, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of New Hampshire, Chairman, Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of New Hampshire, Director of UNH Biomedical Engineering Center, University of New Hampshire who is the subject matter expert on theoretical and adult learning as well as the expert on experimental design for ETC’s laboratory
Tom Leamon PhD, CPE, MSc.Tom is retired as Vice President of Liberty Mutual Insurance Co., and director of the Liberty Mutual Research Institute for Safety. He was accepted as a Fellow in the International Ergonomics Association, Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, the Ergonomics Society as well as many other awards and honors. Tom currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Occupational Safety at Harvard and was educated in the UK with degrees in Industrial Engineering, Production Management and Ergonomics
Dan MacLeod CPE, MPH who is the subject matter expert on Ergonomics, assessments, audits, training, solution development and implementation. Mr. MacLeod is multilingual, Swedish, French, German
Rixio Medina CSP, CPP is an expert in industrial fire protection, safety and security. He retired as the Vice President of Health, Safety, Security, Environmental Protection and Shared Services of CITGO Petroleum Corporation in Houston, Texas. He served as a presidential appointee on the U.S Chemical Safety & Hazard Investigation Board and two Secretary of Labor appointments on the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health.
Kevin Rider PhD, CPE Kevin is an expert in human biomechanics and cognitive neuroscience who investigates unidentified causes of occupational injuries and implements cost effective methods to improve workplace safety through human-centered design of products and services. He is also an expert in digital human modeling (Jack) and motion capture systems (Ascension and VICON) and is proficient in MATLAB, JMP, and 3DSSPP
Chris Schneider (CIH), President of 1SourceSafety who serves as the Environmental subject matter expert and construction safety management, industrial hygiene program development and implementation, indoor air quality survey assessments and response to catastrophic events such as building fires and floods, management audits of health and safety programs, microbiological and moisture assessments
