Corporate
Ergonomic Audit
An objective assessment of your organizations current ergonomic
status can be offered through the audit process, including:
- ergonomics program organization
- training efforts to date
- level and success of prior workplace interventions
- priority of workplace ergonomics
- ergonomic hazards remaining in the workplace
The audit is performed by a Professional Certified Ergonomist with
experience in your industry. The procedure includes facility walk-throughs, records
review, meetings with key management, engineering, safety/health, medical and operational
personnel.
The result of an Ergonomic Audit is a status report, including:
- policy and procedures guidelines
- assessment of workplace interventions and training efforts
- identification of remaining risks and opportunities
- draft of an ergonomics program
- an action plan for your company
Ergonomic Risk Assessment
ETC provides detailed assessments of ergonomic issues for specific jobs in your organization. Assessments are performed at industrial locations, office environments or at your home office. Utilizing ETC's Wrap-Up® module from the Ergotivity® platform can be performed by yourself or with the assistance by a Staff Ergonomist with experience in your industry.

An Ergonomic Risk Assessment requires a minimum of a one day on-site visit at your
facility to perform a walkthrough of the worksite , conduct employee interviews and review
injury and illness data. An average of 10 jobs can be evaluated per day.
The result of an Ergonomic Risk Assessment is a summary report including:
Prioritization and description of the ergonomic needs for all jobs
assessed.
Recommendations for problem abatement. The recommendations may include
commercial product solutions, design changes and/or administrative solutions.
Further more advanced engineering or design specifications required for
problem abatement may also be proposed.
Expert Witnesses
The ETC professionals are expert witnesses in all types of working environments including FELA (Federal Employer's Liability Act), and product liability cases.
Ergonomic Solution Development &
Implementation
A quantitative approach may be necessary for the development of specific engineering or
design specifications required for risk abatement. This may be performed for an isolated
ergonomics issue or for a large number of ergonomic issues at one facility, plant or
department.
The procedure includes an in-depth assessment of the workstation, work methods, tools and
equipment utilized to perform a specific job requirement. Advanced measurement
technologies including force measurement, vibration assessment, contact pressure
evaluation and muscle activity are collected as necessary to support the design
recommendations.
The result of an Ergonomic Solution Development is a detailed report including:
Description and illustrations of workstation, work method, tool and or
equipment design modifications.
Prototypes and CAD drawings may be provided as well to assist in the
testing and refinement of a particular solution methodology.
On-site or remote support to your engineering staff during solution
implementation is always available from ETC.
Product Testing and Design Evaluation
. These
objective measurements determine the comfort and ease of use of products, provide
essential marketing data and reduce the risk of product liability litigation.
Vibration Testing
In order to identify the vibration spectral characteristics of power tools and/or damping
characteristics of alternative anti-vibration gloves to quantify risk or implementation
benefits, ETC performs objective vibration measurements.

Seat Testing
ETC Ergonomists have extensive experience in the testing of seats for the airline and
automotive industries. ETC ergonomists have developed statistical models and formulas to
objectively quantify seated comfort. These models are used for the purpose of testing
prototype seat designs and recommending seat design modifications.
Customized Seat Development Programs are available and widely used by companies to
compliment their design process. For sample data on this process, click here. The report will open in a new browser window.
